Keeping hips level when taking a shot
There are times in soccer when keeping the ball flight low is of critical importance. A penalty kick is an important example – where most misses are due to ‘too high’ a kick. Every time I see someone kick it high, I am aware of how UN LEVEL their hips are. That is –one hip is higher than the other. This happens due to an attempt to ‘overkill’ the ball – to deliver a scorching fast kick. However, this also causes the hips to flex in an uneven manner.
I am by no means a a soccer expert (I just played school level soccer – and then casual soccer in adulthood) – but this symptom is universal to a lot of sports. If the hips lose their level , chances are your body is leaning more on one side – causing an inconsistency in your soccer kick (or golf shot even).
