The Silence of Team India and the non-stop chatter of Lalu et. al
My last post showed how the anti-corruption movement had identified a few ‘obtuse’ elements in Indian society. Now that the movement has taken a landmark step forward, it is exposing a whole different cast of characters. These are the loudmouths and the total silence types. The former camp comprises of people holding press conferences (Mayawati et. al) and people shouting loudly in parliament (Lalu Prasad Yadav et. al). Their discomfort is obvious. Any kid in India knows that their future has been hijacked by these criminals – so it is only natural to see them clamor and run helter skelter in the wake of the new found support for the Lokpal bill.
The second camp is slightly puzzling. Team India (India’s illustrious cricket team) – has been unusually quiet on the entire movement. From day one. One school of thought is that their boss, Sharad Pawar, is obviously on the dreaded Top Ten list. In fact, he may be so corrupt as to single-handedly occupy the top spot. Is it possible that team India is scared of the repercussions (from Sharad Pawar) of speaking out? Either it is this lack of courage – or simply that they don’t care a fig about India’s future. Those are the only two options. Team India – your silence is unacceptable. It reeks of cowardice and/or callousness.
The Road Ahead is going to get ugly
It goes without saying that several ‘high and mighty’ are going to be tried in the coming days. These crooks have openly stolen from the country’s coffers and silenced many an opponent. Now that the entire country wants to see them tried, it goes without saying that they are going to go to extreme lengths to try and get away from the slowly tightening noose around their necks.
Lalu Prasad Yadav
Lalu spent an inordinate amount of time discussing the ‘uselessness’ of Team Anna. Who is this Kejriwal person – he smirked? We should study the constitutional make up of Anna – how can he go without food for 12 days? The answer is simple – Mr. Yaday. He can go without food thanks to people like you. People like you have driven him to this stage. If you need to ask this question, then you are as stupid as you are corrupt.
Sharad Pawar
Everytime they show Pawar on tv, he looks like a deer caught in the headlights. He is trying his best to run for cover, even though the Lokpal committee is yet to be formed. A recent bill to bring the BCCI under the bill’s provisions elicited Pawar’s maximum attention. No way, no how – doesn’t make sense, bad timing – the excuses were as laughable as pathetic.
